Ticino

The individual floors of the houses constructed from rough, undressed stones are only connected by means of external steps and timber galleries. Due to the irregularities of the material used, the walls can be up to 90 cm thick. The roof is made up of granite slabs. The gable is open or closed by means of a timber grating made up of beams lying on top of one another.

The plain of Ticino also boasts building forms which are very similar to the buildings in nearby Italy.
