Oberland

The “chalet” of the Bernese Oberland is now considered throughout the world to be a typical Swiss house. The various decorations used include rich wood-carvings and paintings on the façade, corbels and beams.

These houses originated from the same, simple basic forms from which Alpine huts are still built today.
